How I found EFT
In 2017 I ended up in intensive care for a week after the birth of my son. This was the start of my own mental health journey, seeking support and help for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and post natal depression. I had my first experience of 'Energy Psychology' with EMDR therapy which gave me some release from the challenge of PTSD and depression. When needing further support after an initial block, I was unable to secure further help so went looking for what I could do to help myself. Then I found Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT).

I attended an EFT Summit where each day psychologists and counsellors shared their knowledge on EFT and how they used it with clients and on themselves. Each speaker gave a tapping demonstration which I also carried out with them. Emotionally charged memories from my childhood and teenage years surfaced, some I was very familiar with and others I had long forgotten. As I tapped through these memories, their emotional charge gently reduced and allowed for my perspective of my past experiences to change.
These past experiences had shaped my core beliefs, about myself and the world around me.
EFT allowed me to see these experiences from a calm adult perspective, and changed past experiences of vulnerability and victimhood to safety and strength. I could let experiences go and start to live in the present moment.
My mental health changed rapidly. 10 days of tapping for 1-1.5hrs a day, I felt hopeful, light, much more positive and finally in control.

I have tapped ever since.

The effects of EFT have changed my life to such a degree that I trained as an EFT practitioner, and I'm so excited to be spreading the awareness and use of this amazing tool.
